What It is:
 

 This five day long extravaganza includes vintner dinners, "The Royal Street Stroll," two "Grand Tastings, " exciting seminars, and a memorable Champagne Jazz Brunch. This is the tenth year of the "New Orleans Wine and Food Experience" and the event has evolved  and developed to such an extent that it now draws visitors nationally and internationally. The major New Orleans restaurants are represented in the the "Grand Tastings" that are so extensive that the include TWO "Grand Tastings" with different restaurants represented each day.  "The Royal Street Stroll" is a delightful event that allow strolling down Royal Street, while visiting antique shops and art stores, while sampling wine and food.  The seminars are well conceived, educational, and highlight New Orleans regional cuisine, as well as cutting edge culinary issues. The Champagne Jazz Brunch held on Sunday this year at the newly opened Ritz Carlton Hotel should be a memorable experience.

The New Orleans Food and Wine Experience is really worth attending, particularly if you would like to experience a great American regional cuisine along with many internationally inspired cuisines. Its pricing is "value for money," as this caliber of food and wine experience usually is more costly. See you at the event!

Each of the 33 prix fixe fine dining opportunities marries a top restaurant with at least two complimentary vineyards. Principals, often the wine makers, are present to share the wines with each course. Chefs and vintners plan their menus together ensuring outstanding food and wine pairings.

A definitive evening event and a New Orleans Wine & Food Experience exclusive. The Royal Street Experience brings together New Orleans' greatest gifts - fabulous food, rare antiques, fine art, live jazz and stunning historic architecture - and pairs them with some of the world's most outstanding wines.

Live jazz music fills the air as you stroll the art and antique galleries of enchanting Royal Street and experience wine and food offerings at each stop.

Pick 5 from our long list of available seminars on Friday and Saturday and learn from the finest. Our seminars offer education on everything from spicing up vegetables to organic grape growing. Stroll the art and antique galleries of enchanting Royal Street while experiencing wine and food offerings at each stop. Live jazz fills the air.

GO AHEAD and dance in the street - it will be closed to vehicular traffic.

All Port wines are blends. Aged Tawny Ports, of all Ports are wines blended beyond any wine enthusiast's imagination. Taste a sampling of components from Dow's: 1988 Quinta do Bomfim-Tinta Roriz, 1991 Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira, 1979 Dow, 1994 Quinta do Bomfim-Touriga Francesa. Create your own blend with these wines. Then taste the actual Dow's 10, 20, and 30 year old Tawny Ports. Finally, you will taste two Tawny Ports of a single year, Dow's '82 and '86 Reserve.
