What It Is:

The Food Fare, one of the most popular fundraisers of the year, returns to the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on Thursday, March 1, 2001. Guests sample delicacies presented by LA’s leading caterers and finest chefs from such restaurants as Michael’s, Valentino’s, and Lucques. Nearly 60 restaurants and caterers* will be providing samples of their creations at Food Fare.

Other restaurants include Drago Ristorante, Chadwick, James Beach, Jozu, Melisse Restaurant, La Cachette, Encore-St. Regis Hotel, Joe’s, Saddle Peak Lodge and Pink’s. Catering companies include Escapade Events, Rhubarb, L.A. Celebrations! and Corn Maiden Foods.

In addition to culinary delights and libations, Food Fare boasts a tremendous silent auction, which includes a bicycle trip in Provence, a chocolate making class from K Chocolatier, golf for 4 at Mountaingate Country Club and a stay at Channel Road Inn. A drawing will be held for a dinner for 10 catered by John Connolly Catering.

This event, presented by the Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Guild, has been a fixture on the Los Angeles “scene” for 22 years. Food Fare raises funds to support the health care services, responsible sex education and advocacy of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. Last year Food Fare raised over $345,000.
