![]() The Culinary Magic Continues with the 14th Annual World of Food & Wine Festival at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel The best foods, wines and chefs will converge on The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel for the 14th annual World of Food & Wine festival November 19-21, 1999. Connoisseurs from around the world will gather for informative seminars, grand tastings and rare opportunities to meet and mingle with some of the world's best chefs. This year the resort will honor Alice Waters with its Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the culinary field as a gifted mentor. Five events are scheduled for the three-day, two-night extravaganza and can be purchased separately or in a package including special room rates. Informative seminars and tastings include: an interactive cooking class, a Ritz-Carlton style gourmet barbecue, an “edible gems” and vodka tasting, and a cigar and bourbon pairing with renowned cigar expert Richard Carlton Hacker. What: The 14th Annual World of Food & Wine Event brings connoisseurs from around the world for informative seminars, grand tastings and rare opportunities to meet and mingle with some of the world’s best chefs and winemakers. Seven events are scheduled for the three-day, two-night extravaganza. The events include: Friday, November 19 Meet the Chefs: Hosted by Gourmet and KitchenAid, meet the chefs being showcased throughout the weekend and enjoy culinary classics paired with wines from the Robert Mondavi Family of Wines. Saturday, November 20 Cooking with the Masters: Wente Vineyards Executive Chef Kimball Jones demonstrates the art of California cooking. Watch the chef in action as he prepares a three-course gourmet luncheon. A Poolside Barbecue – Ritz-Carlton Style: Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel Executive Chef Christian Rassinoux and Chef de Cuisine Yvon Goetz grill, roast and smoke fine game, poultry and seafood over the open fire.
